Dr. Mark Hornfeld
Ophthalmology
A 1988 graduate of The New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York, Dr. Hornfeld completed his ophthalmology training at Saint Vincents Hospital and Medical Center in New York City where he served as Chief Resident. In addition to over 20 years in private practice in New York City, Dr. Hornfeld is also an attending physician at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary on 14th street in Manhattan, The Mackool Eye Institute in Astoria, Queens, and The Eye Surgery Centers of New York, located in the Bronx. Dr. Hornfeld teaches new surgical techniques to other physicians. He has been board certified by both the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Hornfeld is highly skilled in the latest techniques of cataract surgery. He utilizes the most technologically advanced equipment to obtain the most accurate results. This is particularly important when implanting the high-tech intraocular lenses because it gives the best chance of independence from glasses for all distances.
Dr. Hornfeld offers cataract surgery using the femtosecond laser. He engages each patient in a comprehensive discussion of what best suits their needs.
